i know i say this every year....but i seriously can't believe my baby boy is 8!!!! this is such a special birthday and year for him...he will be getting baptized next week which is huge for him and our family! we decided not to have a "friend party" this year since we are making a big deal with his baptism, but we did have a family party...a phineas and ferb party!

blaine got a sweet army knife for his bday from dad and now he uses it for EVERYTHING...including cutting up a receipt....i guess he really liked that gift and was not returning it!

Pinewood derby

what an exciting day....blaine got to participate in his very first pinewood derby the day before his birthday!!! the scout leaders were super nice and let blaine in on the fun even though he wasn't 8 yet....but he was close enough!

Dinner Swap

Last Friday i hosted a Dinner Swap with some of my girl friends. here is how it went down....there were 6 of us total, so each of us had to bring 5 freezer friendly dishes to swap. for example i made 5 baked zitis (one for each girl to take home) we also decided to, make the night more fun, we would bring a sample of our dish so we could all try it and get excited to serve it later. we ended up with some amazing food and i look forward to eating it ALL....this will probably be happening again once my freezer is emptied!

ziti, enchilladas, lasagna, cassaroles, pasta, chicken, rice....so much good food!!!

Christmas Morning

well here we are half way through january and i am finally updating our blog with christmas stuff!! just a few fun pictures from chirstmas morning. we had such a great christmas this year!!

Santa brought Mario Kart K'nex....Jake and i got blaine a bike!!

Ty got a Slide!! or "weeeee" as he calls it, and some yummy cereal from santa

the "family" gift was a hot chocolate maker...it has gotten plenty of use already! we love it! merry chirstmas to all!!!!

Lego Land 2011

For the last couple of years we have had Legoland passes...but this year we have decided not to renew our passes. so for our last "HURRAW" we let Blaine choose 3 friends to take to legoland all day and live it up! we even let him skip school to go!! the day was perfect...just before christmas and not too crowded.

of course they all had to look at their maps!!

there is a starwars lego mini city...aka, little boy heaven!

and in December they even had snow...which was really fun!

as typical california boys...they needed some hot chocolate to warm them up after playing in the snow!!

Progressive Dinner

Our Street has had an annual Progressive Dinner for the past several year...and this was the first year we were able to make it!! we all started at our house with a simple appetizer and a white elephant gift exchange...hence all the random gift people have and or are wearing! then we moved on to 5 different houses including an other appetizer, salad, soup, main course and DESSERT!!

Our Street Christmas tree lighting

every year my cute neighbor Joylene has a "tree lighting" party for all the kids. she puts a tree out in her front yard and all the kids come and make ornaments to put on the tree. then they all help decorate...it is such a fun tradition and we love being a part of it.

we decided to go to DISNEYLAND last monday....the week of thanksgiving, and it was soooooo crowded!!! crazy! but we still have a great time!

Blaine's Class Party

In Blaine's Class we did a "I'm Thankful for Mr. Klos...." Chain!!! the kids wrote lots of links about why they are thankful for Mr. Klos. by the end of the month, his chain wrapped around his body!! we love Mr. Klos
we also had a "popcorn" turkey, that Mr. Klos carved....each kid got a little baggy of popcorn!

i decided it was about time we have a total toy detox in our house! we have sooooo many toys and it was time to get rid of some. i was even able to get the boys on board because i told them there would be NO MORE ROOM for new toys unless we get rid of some old toys!! with christmas and birthdays coming up, this was a huge motivator!!

THE PLAN: take each room one at a time....dump ALL the toys from that room into one BIG pile then separate into 3 smaller piles....KEEP, THROW AWAY, GIVE AWAY.....

as you can see, we had a pretty big project here! but it went great. we were able to throw away tons of trash/broken old toys and give away a bunch of stuff too. the boys were happy to help and their weren't any tear shed over lost toys (which was actually a surprise to me.) it feels great to clean out and de-clutter....the only down side is this will only last for another month before new toys come. oh well, we have fun and life is good!! :)

well, we are already well into november and i can't believe it. this month is FLYING by already and before you know it i will be posting about christmas.. ahhhhh!! anyway, we have be very busy (like usual) but having so much fun...(like usual)

for starters, we started this fun thing on our street we like to call the "thankful chain." we made starter chains for all the neighbors to hang on their front door...then through out the month as you think of a reason why you are thankful for a neighbor, you write it down and add your link to their chain. (i don't know if that makes sense) anyway, it is soo fun walking up the street and watching the neighbors chains grow. people are really getting into it and adding links everyday. we love it. and it's so fun to come home and see new links on our chains.

then, last friday i decided to throw a potluck "just because" breakfast...i love breakfast food!! a few of my friends came over with their kids and we all ate a yummy breakfast...then the kids played and the adults just to chat for a little. it was way nice and i look forward to hosting another just because breakfast!!

one of Blaine's best friends from first grade moved to Florida over the summer and we were so bummed. But the kids decided to have a video chat the other day! they were so cute talking to each other (in private of course...i went upstairs). we actually had to cut them off after an hour so she could get ready for bed and Blaine could do homework. it was so fun for them...can't wait to talk to you again Isabella!!

Halloween night

so here we FINALLY have actual halloween night. it seemed like by the time the 31st came, we were kind of halloweened out....well, not really. there is always time for free candy!!

we went around with a group of neighbor kids. jake and i always take turns...one walking with the kids and the other handing our candy

by the end of the night, Ty was having just as much fun (if not more) handing our candy and wearing daddy's hat!! happy halloween!

i told you we were busy this month...here is party number 3 in october!! we seriously had something going on every saturday this month! but i was all fun and worth it. here are some pictures from ouf big halloween party that Paig and I planned. it was awesome. Jake dressed up as a "mis" fortune teller and was giving out awful fortunes all night. i was his gypsy assistant.

there was a couple dressed up as Waldo and Wanda, and there goal was to try and be in as many pictures as they could....WHERE'S WALDO??

we had a poker and black jack dealer come and it was seriously soo much fun!

outside we had music and dancing...we even played "finish the lyrics" which is always funny. it was such a great night! oh by the way, Jake won BEST MALE COSTUME!!! wahoo for him. he deserved it, he was hilarious giving out his mis-fortunes.

Block Party

Remember way back when we started growing pumpkins?! well a few weekends ago we had a street "Fall Festival, Pumpkin Party Extravaganza"!!!! and it went super awesome if i do say so myself! unfortunately there were only 3 people on the street who actually produced a pumpkin (not us!!) but we still partied anyway!!

me, Joylene and Kim headed up the whole thing!

there were games like ghost bowling, candy corn toss...we even had real pumpkin races...
or course Joylene and i had to get in on the action!!
there were also cute crafts for the kids to make....
and "HAY RIDES"

one last contest we had was a chili cook off which was AMAZING!! so yummy and there was such a great variety and turn out. it was such a fun night! and of course there were awards for our pumpkin growing winners!! everyone on the street agreed that this should now be an annual thing!! i think so too!

Ward Talent show

on October 15th our church ward put on a TALENT SHOW!! it was really neat because we not only displayed "showy" talents (singing, dancing, piano...) but there were also artsy talents and cooking talents. there was a bake off which meant a table of everyone's yummiest treats, and the whole back of the gym was filled with art work, trophies...you name it. the theme of the night was "There are Talents all around us"...or something like that. SOOOOO, long seg way....Jake was actually put in charge of the whole TALENT portion of the night. he sis such a great job lining up acts, keeping everything running smoothly, lights, sound EVERYTHING! he was one busy guy...good thing he has a super awesome wife who was there to help him!!

Blaine decided that he wanted to be in a number with some of his friends called "Circus Act" they all did something a little different. Blaine did the ROBOT!! and let me tell you...he made mama proud. he stayed in character the whole time. he made this old circus hat we had go over his head and he cut out eyes so he could see! so cute

i decided to display some of my talents with my crochet stuff! and as if jake didn't already have a busy crazy night, he also preformed. he did a spoof oprea singing number that was super funny! good work babe on everything!

Carving Pumpkins

we kind of had an impromptu pumpkin carving thing the other night...we carved out in the garage with some of the neighbors. it is always fun to have more people around! and we had plenty of pumpkins to carve since jake "strong man" carried 8 pumpkins home for us! i think the kids did a great job and the pumpkins look awesome!!

the local garden center has this deal every year...for $18.99 you can take as many pumpkins as you can carry! so of course we are up for the challenge. we headed down and loaded up. jake managed to hold 8!!! wahoo....and you were only able to hold the big heavy ones. my neighbor came along too...she carried 6!

What have been up to lately....A LOT!!! so i am going to try and update as much as i can, when i have some free time (which i dont seem to have a lot of right now!) we are loving this fun fall, festive time. my sister Karen and her family came out to visit, which is alway fun when family comes. one of the things we did was go to the pumpkin patch! we never really plan on it, but it seems like we have gone to the pumpkin patch with their family more years then not! i love it!

Fall is upon us!

let the holiday season BEGIN! we kicked off our very busy October weekends, with this last weekend of business. wow did that even make sense. Anyway, we will have so much going on til halloween, but we are loving it already! last weekend started with an impromptu cookie decorating night. one of the neighbor boys helped me make dough while i was babysitting hi

m, but then we decided to invite everyone over to help us decorate and eat the cookies! yumm

then it was off to our LEGO DAY....starting with a new Lego store opening in our local mall. kids could come by and help build a giant SpongeBob!

Blaine got a certificate for helping...and Ty just hung out with me!

Last stop for the day....LEGOLAND! we went down mainly to try and defend our title as Lego Costume contest winner, but unfortunately we did not win this year. the winner was actually a hand crocheted, life size spongebob! the crochet made it all look like little lego pieces. it was crazy! no thank you! we still had fun anyway, and i thought Blaine's costume was great and very cleaver!

he got to build a lego pumpkin for their pumpkin patch. do you see blaine's?!

next, it was off to the costume contest. Blaine dressed up as one of the very popular Ninjago characters Kia, and Blaine was the evil skeleton that he battles Bonez. the cool part about these costumes was actually the spinners we made out of trash can lids. Blaine did such a great job making these with me!

and what would halloween at legoland be with out brick-or-treat! we had a great time!

Build a Fort

Today was a rainy day, so Ty and i decided to build a Fort!

then we enjoyed some hot chocolate!

but of course the Fort was soooo much more fun once big brother got home from school!

Blaine even said to me, "Wow mom, I'm actually having fun playing with my brother!" nice huh?!!

...and for those of you who noticed....yes, Ty got a hair cut! i thought he needed something more spunky to match his attitude! he is a spunky boy for sure!!

we took a little break from FHE firepits....but now we are back at it and having fun! 2 weeks ago we had a special treat...an old missionary who served in our ward came to visit us with his wife! it was so fun to see Elder (but not elder any more) Clifford.

then just yesterday, we had a great time with the Lillenburgs and Jessops! we made a mini coloring book about being a child of God....since all the kids besides Blaine were little!

Flag Ceremony

Today Blaine was chosen to raise the flag at school! Yahoo! it is actually a pretty big deal. it is probably equivalent to a citizenship award. regardless Blaine was really excited and we are super proud of him. we are only in the 3rd week of school and he's already shining....he was the first one in his class to be chosen. Here is what his teacher had to say about him for an intro:

"Blaine is off to an excellent start in second grade. He has been extra kind and respectful to his classmates and teacher. He is always super-responsible and helpful. Blaine has already shown that he is an outstanding citizen of our school!"

Pumpkin Update

i figure it is time to face the truth and update about our pumpkin....it DIED!! oh no. i don't know what happened, it just shriveled up and died. poor thing. Blaine was pretty bummed too. the same thing happened to some of the neighbors, but others are still growing strong. i don't know if it's our soil, or if it was the extreme hot then cold we were having. it was just weird!

Lucky for us i am very competitive and a little sneaky....we planted another pumpkin in the backyard when we thought it was going to die the first time around. we did this one in a pot with fresh, GOOD soil and it seems to be growing well. we just need some bees to come pollinate!

since pumpkin plant #2 is a secret....we put a fake out front for now! hehe!

this is a music video my brother helped me make from one of my dance camps in the sumer! these girls were so cute and so much fun! each day of summer camp they learned something new, then on the last day i let them pick their favorite dance so we could turn it into a music video. the girls learned this choreo in 1 day, 1 hour....so not too shabby! i was proub of them!

2nd Annual Mustache and Rootbeer Par-TAY

Well we just had our Second Annual MUSTACHE and Homemade ROOTBEER party, and it was a BLAST!! (by the way, this is also known as Jake's birthday party!) we kind of upped the stakes this year and went a little more all out...we had all sorts of mustache stuff EVERYWHERE! we had prizes for different mustaches (see below) and we even had "name that famous mustache" game including mustaches sported by Hulk Hogan, Tom Selleck and many more! Thanks again everyone for such a fun night. sorry i could post pictures of everyone who was there, there were just too many people who came to show off their stache style and wish Jake a Happy Birthday!yummy treats!i "hired" my mom to do a photo booth type zone, so people could take lots of fun, crazy pictures! we love aunt Jaime!

Disneyland with GRANDMA!!!

for the last day of summer, we decided to go to DISNEYLAND with Grandma! it is so fun for the boys, and for grandma who i think has the most fun of all! (she's just like a little kid there too!) it was SOOO SUPER HOT, but we hung out for about 5 hours and had such a great time. this was Ty's second time going, but everything is still so new to him that it is especially fun! Pig Party

to kick off the last weekend of Summer...we decided to have a PIG block party! our neighbors have talked about it for years and we finally just went for it! it was such a fun day. we spent all day outside talking, playing and roasting pig.

there are pictures of the pig being roasted, so if it's going to gross you out, dont look! it actually grossed me out for awhile at first!!
i will start with a cute picture of the kids selling lemonade!
and here it is...the main event! we all had to take 30 minute shifts turning the pig. it was kind of fun...not to mention a good shoulder workout. everyone else was just out hangin (ps, don't mind me...i just got back from my run, so i took my turning shift when i was already stinky and sweaty)

Pumpkins....10 weeks

alright, for those of you who are following our pumpkins...here is an update! they are starting to look good! we were a little worried for awhile when they looked like they were dying, but they have since perked up. i refused to let them die. these pumpkins have become like my little babies...they are now 10 weeks old! haha! a couple weeks ago i decided to dig them up and put loads of fresh, rich soil in there for them. our soil isn't that great, and since the "transplant," they have started growing stronger....we even have our first little circle pumpkin showing up! this is starting to be so fun on the street...we love walking down and seeing all the different pumpkin plants growing. (some better than others) we have one neighbor who has a whole patch growing...we told them to open a stand and sell them! either way, everyone seems to really be having fun with this! mission accomplished!

...i have red hair!!

I've always wanted to do this, so i finally just did! i had red put in my hair back in December, but it was very faint, but now....BOOM! it's RED and i LOVE it! the cool thing about they way we did my hair is it is actually bleached underneath, so i can touch up the color or even change colors whenever i want. so maybe halloween i can do orange and black, or valentine's day i can do hot pink! and of course if i get sick of it, all i have to do is dye it back to my natural color! my friend said "it's like nail polish for you hair!" yep! it's fun!

the boys wanted to do a little camping...but not all the way! we decided to have a BBQ, bonfire campout night in the BACKYARD!! so Ty and i were able to hang out until bedtime...then i put Ty to bed and went to bed inside on our nice big bed while Jake and Blaine roughed it out in the backyard in a tent! they had a great time. Blaine wanted it to feel "real" so we turned out all the lights and only used the fire, flashlights and lanterns. we also taught Blaine how to play some new card games and by the end of the night he was whooping us at uno! such a fun night...this is camping i can do!the boys in the tentaround the fire!...Blaine roasted his first "perfect marchmellow" all by himself!!

i am still coping with the fact that Ty is already a year old! time has really gone so fast with him. we are having so much fun and he is getting even funner now!STATS: height: 30 inches -50th percentile
weight: 17.5lbs - below the charts...still our little peanut

the doctors are actually concerned with his weight, so we are having some tests run! poor guy yesterday had 4 shots (immunizations), blood drawn (in his arm like a grown up) and had to give a urine sample. the doc thinks he is probably just skinny, but wants to make sure everything is ok! other than that his development is great!

TY loves:

* the word "NO!" the only word he really knows

* balls -he throws them and chases them

* his swing

* walking especially with the pooh bear train from grandma ...not waking on his own yet! phew!

Lately Blaine has been very into Harry Potter! I think it all started when his buddy Andin was talking about the movies and asking Blaine if he had seen them. That night Blaine asked to watch the first Harry Potter and he has been hooked on them since! he loves them! we are going to start reading the books!

MY BABY IS ONE!!!!!!!

ahhhhhhhh! Ty turned 1 on 7-7...how did this happen so fast!!! this year has just flown by. but Ty has been such a joy to our family! we sure love having him around! w had such a fun day celebrating....unfortunately both boys have been kind of under the weather, so we pretty much just stayed home and partied here!

Ty LOVES water and splashing, so of course we spent time in the splash pool!
one of Ty's presents from us was a swing we can hang in our backyard...needless to say, he LOVES to swingmy sister Diana and her family just happened to be in town, so they came over with grandma and grandpa for a little BBQ
Ty got this super cute winney the pooh train and LOVES it. my mom got it since i ran over his last winney the pooh toy! haha ... anyway, he can ride on it, or push it and there are all kinds of buttons and lights and sounds! what more could a boy want?Ty's PARTY...since we haven't partied enough, we had one last party for him on saturday...a "friend" party. it was a blast...Ty has so many friends that love him!the backyard set up for more splashing fun!There was a "no splash zone" for babies to hang out and play. this little boy's birthday is just 2 days after Ty's (so the day of ty's party)...they were born in the same hospital and they were actually in our same recovery room, so we were able to visit! Blaine was in charge of the snowcone stand

Happy fourth of July

We spent the fourth of July in Idaho and had a total blast...

we started the morning off with the Rexburg parade Jake and his mommy watching everything go by

Jake's favorite part...the bag pipes. Blaine's favorite part was Darth Vader...i don't know what Starwars has to do with the 4th of July, kind of random, but whatever!

after the parade, we went back to Grandma and Grandpa's house...we played outside in the pool and tossed water balloons!then later that night, we put on our own fireworks show...the kids LOVE sitting in the back of grandpa's truck to watch the fireworks

so, this will be my SUPER CATCH up post!! this summer already seems to be flying by! we spend the last week in IDAHO and had soooo much fun! the time went by too fast. it was great seeing so much family! here's a re-cap of what we did!

Rexburg has this super cool new splash park that is GREAT for the summer time. my kids LOVED it. it's a great way to stay cool and best of all, it's FREE!! Blaine ended up going twice in the time we were there!

Last days of First Grade

The last 2 days of first grade were pretty much play days! on wednesday the kids all had a "field day" meaning they play outdoor games. it was a lot of fun for everyone!

then after to cool them down, we had ice cream sundaes! Ty got in on the action too...little blue cake cone monster

and on the last day of school they spent most of their time doing their favorite activites and signing year books. we got some phone numbers so hopefully we will be able to get together over the summer...otherwise Blaine is sure going to miss his buddies! i can't believe it, but i now have a SECOND grader!

Class Field Trip

School is almost out...so all the first graders at Blaine's school got to go on a field trip to the Aquarium of the Pacific!! i was planning on going, but since i would have to find a babysitter for Ty (no extra kids allowed) and there were 18 parents already planning on helping, i decided to sit this one out. Luckily for me, Blaine was paired up with his good friend Isabella (only 2 kids per parent! nice) and her mom was so sweet and sent me up to date pictures throughout the day so i didn't have to miss a thing! Thanks again Katie! you are so sweet!they got to touch sting rays, jellyfish and starfish

Pumpkins...Week 1 (and a half)

WE HAVE SPROUTS!!!

and we are very excited about it!so these pictures are actually from 1.5 weeks. since there was nothing there after just one week. we were starting to get a little nervous because EVERYONE else on the street had sprouts coming up but us! go figure....we started this and we were going to end up with nothing. But then one neighbor said "all we are doing is watering it,"...and that's when i realized, WE FORGOT TO WATER OURS! oops, minor detail. we watered ours and the next day our little guys popped out! i'm really exited now to see how these will grow. we have gotten lots of feedback on how viney and our of control pumpkins can get...but for now we are just happy to have sprouts!

I got an idea from May's issue of Family Fun Magazine to have a neighborhood pumpkin growing contest!! it seems like lately there have been a lot of new families moving in on our street and a lot of kids, so i thought this would be fun to do. i got most of the families on board....here is what we did:

1. we passed out a baggy of seeds to each housewith instructions on the back of what to do ie: plant in the front yard, plant in full sun, water...2. We gave a starting date, so that the growing would be even...no head starts! but you are allowed to use any type of potting soil, fertilizer, or "homemade remedies" you want.3. Blaine and me planting and watering our seeds...each baggy had 6 seeds, so we split ours up to try and grow two - one for Blaine and one for Ty (Blaine's idea)

the "contest" will go until mid October, then we will all pick our pumpkins and have a big Block Party! there will be all kind of prizes for the pumpkins because everyone is a winner of course! "Biggest Pumpkin", "Orangest Pumpkin", "Oddest Shaped Pumpkin?!". the details for that party are still being worked out, but it will sure be fun! we will keep our blog updated on our pumpkin growing adventures, and hey....if anyone knows any good growing secrets, send them our way because ROBINSONS ALWAYS WIN!!! i mean, we are good sports....but there is some fierce competition on this street! :) we are excited! HAPPY GROWING

i really can't believe it is already the end of the school year! (although some of you are already out of school!) This year really has flown by! it has been so neat to watch Blainey grow this year. it really shows in his writing and schol work. He loves school and learning, reading and writing. He has discovered the "Captain Underpants" book and cant stop reading them. He is already on book 5 in just 2 short weeks. He has also taken an interest in writing books. He wrote his first book "The Great Man" and is currently working on the sequel..."The Great Man CONTINUED!" Tennis and Piano

Happy Birthday to our sweet little boy Junior! Holy Smokes!! i can't believe it has already been 3 years! so we took 3 balloons down to the cemetery and sent them off to Junior's party in Heaven!

We sure miss our little boy and i often imagine how different my life would be...with a 3 YEAR OLD! wowza! i still wonder what he would look like and how he would act, what would be his favorite things and foods and toys. he would be starting preschool and nursery, and running around after his big brother, and now helping out with his little brother. i wonder if we still would have had Ty, i wonder if we would have had him now or waited longer....so many questions and wonders, but everything happened this way for a reason right? it never is "easy" to be without Junior, but this year doesn't seem to hurt AS bad as in the past. i think having Ty has helped fill that hole that was in my heart. each child has changed my life in so many ways. i wish i could have all 3 of my boys here, but i look forward to the day i will get to see him again. I LOVE you little guy. you will always be in my heart. i often remember holding you and giving you loves. you will always be my little angel boy! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JR!

well, one year older and wiser too right?! well, atleast older. i didn't really want to do much this year...mainly because my birthday was on a sunday this year, but also because i have been so busy, that all i wanted to do was relax!! so Jake aranged for us to meet up with some friends at the beach for dinner and to watch the sun set. it was perfect and just what i wanted! thanks everyone for making my day so great! Ty loves walking while holding our hands...and is a pro in the walker
and most of all, Ty LOVES playing with his big brother!
Ty FINALLY broke his 2 bottom teeth, and just the other day Ty started CRAWLING!!! here come the gates!

Utah

over the weekend we traveled up to Utah for my Grandpa Clark's funeral (..there will be an additional post about that later) We had a fun time given the circumstances. We got to see the whole family, and Jake's family even drove down to spend some time with us. it was really great to see everyone and be together. here are a couple fun pictures!

for starters we had to find some WINTER clothes since we are sunny cali kids. luckily Blaine had a buddy he could borrow a coat from and since Blaine was born in snow, we had a few things in storage that Ty could wear my favorite!! sweet snow suit...

both boys did so great on the drive up! it was about 22 hours of driving in a 3 day period! here is a rare photo...MY WHOLE FAMILY !!! just my immediate family with us kids, dad AND MOM!!! this almost never happens!Blaine and Jakey of course

we went to the mall and rode the carousel, Ty's first timeit was so great...Jake's parents drove down to Salt Lake to see the boys. they even stayed in the same hotel, so we got to play lots while we were there!grandpa Idaho can never resist tickling Blaine and making him laugh!one of the coolest things about staying in a hotel is...jumping on the bed!

and of course on our last day there...here is what we woke up too...Blaine had been waiting for it to snow for ONE reason...so he could have a SNOWBALL FIGHT!

on St. Patrick's Day we also went to Sea World with our cousins who were visiting from AZ. it was so much fun! we had a great time!i don't usually dress the boys matching...but it was st. patty's and i didn't realize they were both in green stripes! but they were cute!

St. Patrick's Day

hope everyone had a great st. patrick's day! ours was GREAT! every year, of course, we make a leprechaun trap but we have never been able to catch that tricky fellow! THIS year, the kids in Blaine class could make traps and bring them in...so Blaine got hard to work designing the perfect trap!the trap was inviting the leprechaun to a party, but the top was just covered in tissue paper so he would fall in when he ran across!Blaine's teacher set the trap all over the class and that tricky leprechaun set off every single one! he used scissors to get out of Blaine's trap. and NOT JUST THAT, the leprechaun messed up the whole room and left little messages for the kids. it was a blast even though we didn't catch him...there's always next year!

Family Home Evening

this year we have set a goal to be better at FHE (family home evening) and i have to admit that we are doing pretty well. it helps that Blaine LOVES FHE and doesn't let us forget to do it. a couple weeks ago, we had a really great night. when we were walking to school, Blaine was asking our neighbor if they have FHE...here is a little of their conversation: (i will just use"N" for the little boy's name)

"Hey N, do you guys have FHE?"

-"What's that?"

"you know, Family Home Evening!"

-"No, what is it"

"Well you have a scripture, a prayer, a lesson, and activity and a treat."

-"that's sounds pretty cool"

"yeah, we switch jobs each week, this time i have activity. we have going to build houses"

-"that sounds like fun"...

well, after listening to this i had to invite their family over. Thanks to Blainey our little missionary we had their family over and it was GREAT! we taught the lesson about the wise man and the foolish man...and they even knew the song! so we sang the song WITH ACTIONS, and then we build little houses. it was such a great night! thanks Blaine for being such an example to me!

it all happened so fast, but we MOVED!! this all went down in a matter of just a couple weeks, so things have been WAY crazy! and turns out that we move all of 6 houses down!! our land lord was moving back into his (our) house and we had 60 days to find a new place! luckily we found a place just down the street...same house model and everything! we didn't have to change schools, wards, friends...anything. we really lucked out and are so blessed we found this so quickly. plus...the place has been super upgraded from our last place, and we are paying the same price! SCORE!! if you need our NEW address, just let me know! :)i LOVE this kitchen! it was actually remodeled, so it was different then our last house! it totally opens up the space!hard wood floors...love it! but still getting used to itso much more room in the back yard too! i know it's not ACRES, but it's perfect!

***MOVING DAY***

one of the tricky things about moving just a few houses down, was that we didn't know what to pack in boxes and what to just carry down! and of course we had to or deal of "the piano!!"

thank you so much to all of you who helped ROLL the piano down the street! i know for some of those guys it wasn't their first time moving that thing...and it's a beast! thanks!and of course Blainey...always wanting to help! here he is doing his part!

how is it my boys have such BEAUTIFUL eyelashes? i just had to take a picture of Blaine while he was sleeping...his lashes are so dark and full!

and Ty's are lighter, but still so long, full and pretty! Jealous....ummm YES!!

Tie Dye Fun

a few YEARS ago, Blaine's cousins Paige and Ryker (and aunt juie and uncle t.jay) gave him a tie dye kit for his birthday or christmas and we have always wanted to use it, but never got around to it. the kit ended up at the back of the closet and unfortunately forgotten about. WELL, that is one of the perks of moving...)for those of you who didn't know...we are moving on saturday)....we found the kit and since Blaine was home sick from school, we decided to give it a try!

we decided to make a heart pillow and a onsie for Ty....because of course TY needs a TIE dye shirt!!! it was really simple, and kid friendly. we just tied the strings (that have the dye in them)

then you soak in HOT salt waterooooo, color starting to come throughafter 15 minutes you then untie and rinse under COLD waterthen hang in the sun to dry! only in california can we get away with this in the beginning of februaryTAAAA-DAAAAAHHHH! ty loves his shirtand Blaine wants to give the pillow to his teacher at school for Valentine's day! very sweet! ...it's almost kind of creepy that the heart kind of looks like a real heart with the blue "vein" going through! haha, oh well!! this was such a fun and easy project!

Ty Vs. the Sippy Cup

1. he can learn how to use one and

2. i like to fill it with ice cold water and he can chew on it to help soothehis gums (he's been teething FOREVER!)

i can't believe i have a 7 year old.....7!!! but what a great 7 year old he is. i love my little blainey, and no matter how old he gets he will always be my little boy! this has been a great 7 past years!! every year blaine just gets more and more fun. it has been a blast watching blaine grow up...love you babe!

SeRiouSLy?! ty is already 6 months old!! and my other baby is going to be 7 next week...WHaT!!! Ty has been such a joy...we love when he laughs and plays. he is DEFINITELY a momma's boy!! (but i don't mind) we have so much funSTATS:

height: 26.5 in the 50th percentile

weight: 14.5 pounds in the 4th percentile

he's still just so tiny!! but i love it. i don't want him to get any bigger! before we know it he will be crawling and then walking.....oh boy! happy half birthday ty!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas!! i hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! we started the week off a little rough...both the boys were really sick, but i was glad we got that out of the way so we could have a great christmas DAY!

CHRISTMAS EVE:

i think we decorated sugar cookies like a hundred times this chirstmas!! i made A LOT and frozen them, so we just kept pulling them out of the freezer. we played with the Burches on Christmas eve and the kids made cookies for SantaCassidy, Paige and Kameryn

the Big boys (Jake and Blaine) were down stairs playing double dribble on the WiiCass and Ty are getting so big already!

after that, we headed down to legoland to see it all decorated for christmasthey have a cool giant tree upand at night they even had fake snow! Blaine LOVED IT!when we got home, we have a tradition that you get to open 1 present christmas eve...and new pair of jammies!then we set out our cookies and it was off to bedCHRISTMAS MORNING!!!!!

happy boys!Ty got a little piano and LOVES it (it was actually Blaine's when he was a baby..shhhhh, don't tell!)Blaine already hard at work on some new legosnow off to Grandmas for more fun!we had the biggest, yummiest breakfast which included T.bone steak, eggs on toast, coffee cake, bacon, hash browns, OJ

Ty of course just liked chewing on the wrapping paperthanks grandma california for the fun new toy!and i got the Michael Jackson dance game for the Wii and it is AWESOME!! we played all night!

Day After Christmas: Blaine got this super cute suit from Grandma and Grandpa Idaho...looking sharp kido!

i had to take a picture of the tree....Blaine put the ornaments on the tree this year, and i loved how he put them all right next to each other. i couldn't change it of course...it was too cute. he did a great job

this past week has been PACKED with holiday fun. it feels like we have been going non stop!

MONDAY:

we went to go see Santa! Blaine was sure to tell him what he wanted this year (a lego pirate ship) and that he has been a good boy all year

and ty got to meet Santa for the first time

TUESDAY:

our youth put on a live nativity for the community. Jake led the choir, blaine was his helper, i was an assistant director and Ty was baby Jesus

WEDNESDAY:

the little girls that i have been teaching put on a little dance recital for their parents! sooo cute!

not all the girls are pictured here. (missing 2) i made all of their skirts too. thanks to my friend Paige who helped me and stayed up late cutting them all!

THURSDAY:

Blaine had his holiday party at school. making crafts, watching polar express and decorating cookies.

blaine had his fourth annual craft party...always a blast (pictures below)

SUNDAY:

jake's brother and family came over to visit. they have been down at disneyland this weekend in the pouring rain. but sunday they came over for dinner and fun....and to stay dry!!

my sister Carrie posted the CUTEST THING EVER on her blog!!!! it is a video of her daughter Kaylie (my niece) singing Frosty the Snowman. tis' the season

it's that time of year again...when everything gets busy and crazy, and i LOVE IT! we kicked off the first December weekend with loads of fun. Blaine had been begging us since thanksgiving to put up the tree, so it was finally time. he was such a great help....putting the tree together. notice the tongue...his concentrating pretty hard. it's tough work!dad untangling the lights...while Blaine dances to christmas music in the back round and Blaine following Jake around the tree with the lightsTy and i helped by staying out of the way. we still have to finish putting the ornaments up, so that's why there isn't a "final product" picture.the next day was the annual neighborhood christmas tree lighting. the kids make crafts and decorate the tree.

Ty had a good time too...he found the cookies!...YUMMMMMM.....
